For organizations seeking to leverage The Open Group Architectural Framework (TOGAF®) using the Enterprise Architect modeling tool Raise the maturity level of your organization by adopting a standard, comprehensive architectural framework made available in a low cost repository-based modeling tool that supports modeling Requirements as well as many official notations including UML®, BPMN™ and ArchiMate®! While TOGAF certification is not required, a solid understanding of its main structures, concepts and deliverables is highly recommended! |
The course focuses on the practical aspects of modeling with the TOGAF® framework specified by The Open Group using the MDG Technology for TOGAF® povided by Sparx Systems.Depending on the type of license purchased from Sparx Systems TOGAF® may or may not be included in your installation. Specifically, the training targets the artifacts produced as part of phases B through D of the Architecture Development Method (ADM) and only briefly touches upon the other phases. It does not cover the process related aspects, and is thus not intended to be a comprehensive TOGAF® training curriculum, nor a preparation for TOGAF® certification! Project managers, business subject-matter-experts, analysts, architects, designers and all other personnel who are intended to populate the framework with any of the numerous model elements required to produce artifacts for its different phases. |

This training eases the learning curve of adopting the framework by illustrating how its catalogs, matrices and viewpoints can best be defined in Enterprise Architect.
Since TOGAF® itself only specifies a high level metamodel, the course also highlights the various standard modeling notations (BMM, BPMN™, UML®, ArchiMate®, etc.) that could be used as the basis for creating artifacts in addition or as an alternative to the metamodel provided by the tool. The Cephas Viewpoint-to-Viewpoint Transformation Service enables you to automatically generate, via transformation rules, target viewpoints (diagrams) from source viewpoints (diagrams)!
